We are thrilled to share that our PhD student, Monserrat Casado, attended the Society for Neuroscience Conference, the premier global neuroscience event, held in Chicago. Monserrat presented her poster titled “Unraveling Altered Brain Function in Post-COVID-19 Condition Through Electroencephalography”, showcasing our lab’s cutting-edge research on the effects of COVID-19 on brain function. She was honored with the Trainee Professional Development Award! We are incredibly proud of her achievements and contributions to advancing neuroscience research.

We are thrilled to share that our PhD student, Monserrat Casado, recently attended the 2nd Canadian Symposium on Long COVID in Edmonton, where she presented a poster on her groundbreaking research. Her hard work and dedication were recognized, and she was honored with the Trainee Poster Excellence Award! We couldn’t be prouder of her contributions to advancing knowledge in this critical area of health.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Quebec Bio-Imaging Network (QBIN) for supporting Guofeng Ye’s research career through the Recruitment Scholarship. QBIN is dedicated to fostering innovation in bio-imaging research and promoting collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and industry partners. It is an honor for Guofeng to be part of the QBIN community and contribute to the advancement of health research in Quebec and beyond. We are excited to see the great strides she will continue to make in bio-imaging research with this support.

We are thrilled to announce that a team of students supervised by Prof. Marie-Hélène Boudrias and led by Ms. Barbara Chalifoux achieved 2nd Place in the Martin Theater Award for their oral presentation in August 2024. The team’s project focused on the “Identification of Common Clinical and Demographic Factors in Horizontal Semicircular Canal (HSC) Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) in Stroke Individuals Complaining of Dizziness.” Congratulations to team members Richard Xiao, Elizabeth Messier, and Melanie Pham.

We are excited to share that our postdoctoral researcher, Perrine Ferré, was recently honored at the “Mon projet en 180 secondes” competition, which took place during the SSA Québec Management Assembly. Perrine’s presentation, “Lessons Learned in Our Rehabilitation Settings During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Preparing for the Next Time”, earned her the Best Science Communication Award.

Our Master’s student, Palak Vakil, recently presented her poster titled “Concerted Study of the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Rehabilitation Outcomes and Services of Post-Stroke Users in the Province of Québec” at the 5e congrès de recherche en adaptation-réadaptation (REPAR). Palak’s research sheds light on the significant effects the pandemic has had on rehabilitation services for post-stroke patients in Québec. We commend her for her dedication to advancing rehabilitation research and for representing our lab at such a prestigious event!
